
If you pack the entire contents of human civilization– from the earliest civilzations in Mesopotamia to the resignation of Karl Rove a few days ago into one inch, the Big Bang would be 6.37 miles from here.

Cool! If you caught last night’s “NOVA,” you saw engaging astrophysicist Neil Degrasse-Tyson describe the “Origins” of our planet. Instead of distance measurements, he used time (literally, a clock) to put into perspective the blink of an eye in time that we have been here.

If all of human civilization is an inch. I wonder how long we have been using computers, phones, automobiles, TVs, etc. Weird. Consider where we were technologically in 1900, and how far we’ve come in a mere 100 years.
